One things that is certain is that things around us are constantly changing. Everyday we can see it happening. I talked in an earlier post about the leaves changing and the snow coming. The leaves are changing colors and we begin to see them fall and it lets us know that the time is coming when cold weather will be hear soon. It is amazing to watch the changes around us. Each day we see our children learning new things and getting excited about what they’re learning in school. I still get excited about learning new things everyday. We are all changing. Each day we get a little older and hopefully a little wiser through the experiences that we faced that day. If we don’t learn from our mistakes then we will not try to do anything different. If we keep doing this we will just end up making the same mistake over and over. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound very fun to me. I know that there are areas that I am still blind to and may not notice in myself. I know this because I have people in my life who let me know about them. That is a good thing. I have a friend that I get together with and discuss life, family, God, and how to be the man God called me to be in every area of my life. Most of all I have my wife. She is great and doesn’t let me off the hook too easily. I don’t want her to do that anyway. Is it tough facing those times when I am wrong and have to change something yes it is but I still need to get it done. Change can be scary sometimes because we don’t always know what is coming up next and we may not know what steps to take. I have shared before that I Started a new job not too long ago. There is a pretty steep learning curve and that is a little intimidating when everyone else around me seems to have it all down pat. I know they don’t because they still ask questions but it seems like that to me because I am new. I just keep trying to learn something new everyday and keep that bit of knowledge with me. I like to write things down so I can reference them later. That has already served me well in a couple of cases. Change is scary but it is also inevitable. Change is also a good thing when moving us out of a bad situation or out of a bad habit. Romans 12:2 says, Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will. Every day we need to make our mind new. We are to refresh it so it can be more and more like God’s mind. Here’s the thing. When we begin to here truth and we begin to accept truth and make it a part of our thinking then our attitudes will change and along with that our actions will change. So the more we refresh our minds with the good things of God and make them a part of our life the more we will begin to be the people God has called us to be. It is possible for us to do this. If it was not possible for this to happen God would not have commanded us to do it. The thing is we have to remember that it is not on our own strength that we do these things. It is with God’s help. He gives us the ability to move forward and be made new when we trust him and follow him. Keep on changing for the good. God has great things in store for you.
