Amen! Too many times as men we like to twist that scripture around, or only focus on the ‘wives submit’ part of the scripture, and that is clearly not what God intends for us to do.

I heard an interesting thought that the true translation of the type of love that God is talking about here is “Charity” love. It was described as giving to charity. When we do this we expect nothing in return. There are no preconditions etc for what we are doing. That is what God would have us do, is to love one another with no preconditions just as He loves us.

So true. Ed. God is truly wonderful. He never ceases to amaze me with how personal he is to us. He knows exactly where to meet us. That is at the point of our need, no matter what the need is. How great he is.

I am inspired by the incredible love of God. In fact, yesterday I wrote a post about putting hope in God, rather than material things. As you say, it can really be difficult to have hope in tough economic times, especially when things we thought we could count on, are proving to no longer be reliable. But God is always reliable.

It is good to have one day in a year designated for the expression of gratefulness. We do not have one here in Malaysia. So wise of Abraham Lincoln!

The world would be less chaotic, it would be a more peaceful place if each one of us has the awareness in him that there are plenty for which he should be thankful for.

To remind myself of my good fortune, I have drawn up a list for my daily expression of giving thanks.
